Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle is a mantra we try to live by at St Luke’s CARES, so we couldn’t fail to notice that levels of recycling are rising in our local area with an increase in the frequency of Green Bin collections. We have created a display at the shop to highlight what goes in your Green Bin and other recycling points in the area.
Come and have a look. If you live here; Moor Crescent Estate, Northcotes, Disraelis, Bismarcks, Waverley Garth and surrounding streets, Hill Street and the Sycamores, the Beverley Square Estate, the Greenmount Estate, including Fulhams, Ingletons, Flaxtons and The Arthingtons in Hunslet, your bins will have changed recently, with Green bin collections increasing to fortnightly.
So one week is Green bin collection and the next week Black bin collection and so on. Though it may take a bit to get used to, it’s great news for the planet. Reducing, Reusing and Recycling is one way we can help lessen our impact on the environment.
