Our innovative charity shop and furniture warehouse not only provides affordable furniture, clothing and household items to our local community but also acts as a community hub for local groups, event, activities and is home to our community cinema. We opened the charity shop in 2014 as a means to provide a more sustainable income source for our charity to enable us to run community and youth projects and not be reliant on solely grant funding. The charity shop has since become a incredible local asset and community hub. We run our First Steps project from the charity shop and have revisited the history of the building (one of the oldest cinemas in Leeds) and created our own community cinema. We are incredibly proud of our charity shop and the buzz you experience when you visit it. Please do pay us a visit, donate your furniture and help us to continue to build this special place.
Find us on Dewsbury Road
You can find the St Luke’s Charity Shop and Furniture Warehouse at 246 Dewsbury Road, LS11 6JQ. We’re at the traffic lights on the junction of Tunstall Road. The best place for parking for visiting or dropping donations is round the back of the shop on Linden Terrace. The shop can easily be accessed from Leeds bus routes, 2 & 3 from Leeds City Centre.
Community Cinema
At the Charity Shop we run our Community Cinema. The charity shop warehouse many years ago was one of the first cinemas in Leeds so we have revisited it’s history, installed a projector and brought the cinema back to life! We run a programme of films throughout the year from kids films in school holidays to getting involved in local film festivals hosting films. Keep an eye on our news section for all the latest showings!
We depend on support and kind donations to keep doing the important work in our community. We really appreciate any donation of furniture, house clearance booked or money donated and we work hard to ensure it all goes straight back into our community projects and reaches the people it needs to.
