Project Leader 24hrs/week
St Luke’s CARES is delighted to advertise a new project leader role to lead the Bright Futures Project. Funded for 3 years the Bright Futures Project will support young women living in inner South Leeds. Outcomes of the Bright Futures Project include:
- Girls in south Leeds will have an increased awareness of CSE, risk, unhealthy relationships and how to stay safe.
- Girls in inner south Leeds will have increased access and engagement to positive activities.
- Girls in inner south Leeds will have increased levels of self-esteem.
There are several secondary level outcomes to project These are: girls feeling less isolated as the detached, clubs and mentoring gives them support, fosters and encourages new positive friendships and aids their social development. More confident and able to make the most of opportunities in life as they receive social investment from the programme, and have opportunities to contribute to their local community through volunteering and sponsorship events. Girls will be more educated and aware of community issues including equality and diversity, poverty and homelessness, positive local community initiatives and how to be a positive agent in your neighbourhoods. Girls will be more aware of their own state entitlements and where to access specialist support in mental and physical health issues, housing, income support, job support, domestic violence, wider victim support and substance misuse.
Activities include weekly outreach/drop in sessions in Beeston & Holbeck, community afterschool sessions and one to one mentoring.
St Luke’s takes safeguarding extremely seriously. The successful applicant will be subject to 2 professional reference checks and an enhanced DBS check, which will be renewed every 3 years.
